上2星期買入 860EVO 512, 問過代理 (Xander), 佢初頭話唔使, 後來又話要 keep 包裝.

It depends on which local agent you are talking about.  The rma process of reputable local agent is quite handy.

千萬唔好買D來歷不明公司,免得平$10..找佢維修連公司都找不到,
得不償失 !!

I have had similar experience talking about 20 years ago.  Delivered a hdd to a so-called agent for repair. Called to check the rma status but the phone line was cancelled!  Visited the office and the door was locked, ppl were gone with wind!

As mentioned, only get those stock with warranty provided by authorised (or very popular) local agents. Paying a bit more is no problem as far as warranty is concerned.
