Apple service is very good.  If you're using Andriod phone (and the warranty has been expired for years), the story would be totally different (no support at all !).

ps.  Previously Apple support (HK and US) helped to resolve my iPhone 6S Plus's operational issue ... even the device's warranty has been expired for long.
