Sure the 1-series is crazy heavy.  I was an ex 1Ds3 user (long ago).  

As size and weight do matter, my downgrade path is:
Canon 1-series --> Nikon D700 --> Pan M4/3 (as of now)

Of course, FF's IQ is much better than that little M4/3
