Yes, but this is so far the only option that meets my requirement.

- individual bay on off
- trayless bay design

Additionally, it can daisy chain with USB 3 gen 2 which I like.

The only downside is the power supply is builtin and cannot replace individually.

To meet your requirements, 3K is required .  As my need is simple, QNAP TR-004 is good enough

Anyway, built-in power supply is no good.  I had a Century 4-bay (long time ago) of which the built-in power supply failed right after warranty.  Can't find a compatible replacement in the retail market.  Gave up, eventually

If you don't need NAS features, there is no point getting one.  In addition, NAS file system is mostly EXT4 (or ZFS).  I suppose NTFS is your cup of tea (... me too)

Btw, QNAP supports both file and volume (whole disk) level encryption.
