[外置硬碟] HGST Travelstar 7K1000 (7x24) any good?

Planning to build my next external HDD (2.5") but hoping to use something a bit higher spec (esp. 7200rpm)

Had little to no experience with HGST before, so question is, is overall QC and reliability comparable to WD, or better (just don't quote me those Backblaze figures pls)?

Currently eying on the HTE721010A9E630/0J30573 (7x24 model) which dealers claim has a more durable motor than standard version
Originally wanted to stick to Scorpio Black (NOT Black2) but that lineup only has up to 750GB capacity and only up to 16MB cache

Anyone has good luck with this 7K1000?  (Only sold at Jumb0 for a hefty ~$64x)

不過我用緊 HGST Travelstar 2.5" 1.5TB 5400RPM
7X24 Raid 1, 已經用左一年一個月，暫時未有問題

Have thought about 7K1500 (7x24 model) as well, but HGST website does not list this model anymore

So I dunno if there's any hidden problem with the 7K1500 which prompts HGST to remove all info from the site, or if HGST has already discontinued the HDD

First of all, I need a 2.5" ext HDD not a freaking 3.5" NAS or whatsoever, so you're pretty much OT

And second, why should I get Tosh*tba when I can get WD Scorpio Blue at decent price and assurance

Perhaps you made the recommendations becuz you didn't know what I actually need

I need a durable 1TB, 7200rpm 2.5" ext HDD to mirror one of my HDDs inside the PC for backup, and that drive also contains ghost backups of my C:drive

WD does not have it, so my next choice is HGST (also given its reliability record)

I have two standard 7K500 as secondary storage. The old one works fine, but the new one randomly emits "click" sound, sure not normal spinning/RW sound, seems like actuator parking.........should I return it?
No experience with 7x24 models.

I've been using a USB 3.0 HGST 7K1T with my tablet for over 1 year.  I think the HDD is excellent but the case is easy to scratch. (Not sure if the newer model uses a different finishing or not) Speed under USB3.0 is adequate for me.

You should check the price for USB drives too because sometimes its almost the same as a HDD!
