How much memory does Nexus One have out of the box for programs?

I finally started to use my Nexus One after having received it more than a week ago.  Lol!!

I noticed that the available internal memory is only 186 megs.  Is that correct?

I thought it should be alot more than that provided that it has 512megs ram.

Any thoughts on this?   How much available space did your Nexus One have out of the box?

Oh boy!

That is just as much as the HTC Hero.   What was the big deal about the 512megs ram that many were excited about.

How about the Sony Ericsson X10 which will have 8GB built in?   That can be used for storing downloaded programs from the market right?

嗯...雖然的確QSD8250很強大
但應該也不需要佔用到那麼多...
應該是初期為了確保順暢度才設比較高
所以Google才會說updata後會增加約100MB
(降低到還不至於影響到順暢度的程度)

而ROM應該只看的到165MB沒錯
但Android其實也沒有347MB那麼大
在ROM裡是有分好幾區的
包括作業系統保護區、資料快取、使用者資料、程式可用空間
而一般多數軟體只能看的到程式可用空間的那165MB
使用者安裝的程式、程式的快取、設定、暫存資料...都會放在這
不過Google有說後期會開放讓程式可安裝到SOC
只是大概會用什麼加密的方式來保護付費軟體吧...

上述的資料有軟體可以看得到
不過我忘記名字了
只記得是中文軟體...

其實這就像WindowsMobile差不多
官方標的數據都跟看到的不一樣
因為被佔用的那部分都會被鬼隱掉..."

This is one reason why 3D gaming will never come to Google Phones.

In my Palm Pre each 3D game is about 150megs.  

Assassin's Creed released just 2 days ago for Palm Pre and it is also about 150 megs.

Nexus One is a very good phone but it is sad one can't play 3D games with this phone.

Also 3D Gaming will never come to Google PHones until Google releases phones with 8GB or 16GB memory.

It is a shame that such a great phone has such a limitation.
