There're similar 4k ultra-sharp monitors (e.g. Dell UP3221Q) out there with 100% color coverage and self-calibration.

RX1270 is sold at that unreasonable high price because it's under the name of EIZO and (claimed to be) tailored for medical usages (with some fancy features). Most likely, they're bought by the government and paid by the taxpayers.
