Thought I should share this (after some two-year delay)...
Have MTV7000D/mini and wanted to connect a VCR to it for direct digital transfers (instead of VCR-to-DVR). However, the VCR menu becomes very unstable and jittery (NOT VCR problem though)...

The recorded signals appear normal. However, the entire operation is a pain......
Just few days ago I brought two VCRs to PM to test their MTV8000, upon their advice. Absolutely NO rolling menu problem whatsoever!! There's still signal delay during VCR operation and recording, but the symptom is MUCH LESS severe than on the 7000 (refer to above link)
When asked about this problem the tech guy told me the 8000 has a much faster chipset for processing, and that from the VCR test results, the unit is able to "lock on" to the VCR menu properly......
Any experienced my problem with their MTV7000? And more importantly, should I trade in the MTV7000 for the MTV8000? |
