Taiwanese component maker and system builder MSI has launched what it claims is "the very first notebook computer in the world that is capable of operating both SSD and HDD hard drives simultaneously".

The Wind U115 Hybrid has both a 120GB/160GB hard disk drive (HDD) and an 8GB/16GB solid state drive (SSD). This enables an ‘ECO' mode, in which the netbook runs exclusively from the SSD, which MSI claims extends the battery life to 12 hours (presumably on the 6-cell battery model).
