Programs disappeared from MTV HDD

Have been using MTV-8000D for some 1.5 years now...

Lately I find that some of the recorded programs that have been marked as "Protected" have disappeared from the STB's HDD... and I'm pretty sure I did NOT delete them...

Is it possible that the catalog file on the STB's HDD have been corrupted?  If so, how can I repair that?  (On esternal  HDD I can simply delete that root file and have MTV regenerate the catalog file the next time the external HDD is plugged in)

Is that a common problem?  Can somebody please help?

Settings -> Advanced -> Recording -> Check and Repair System HDD.

Have tried a few times, still the same...

Will a full system reset of any help?  (I don't want to do this because it's cumbersome redoing all the settings including channel scan etc. etc. etc.)
