對上一次買機已經係21年5900hx+3080個代
跟住一路都無買過新機.原因在於gpu未更新,cpu intel 新既H55系列又是第一代
同埋各大廠既模具又冇更新,所以一直都伙係持觀望態度
到左今年睇曬intel+nvidia評測
我知今代新機就係我想要既野
13980HX=13900K完整核心下放=13700K性能
laptop 4090=4080 16完整核心下放=4080 16 80%性能=3090TI性能
仲要各大廠都換左新模具增強左散熱能力
想轉下口味唔買返rog,睇中aorus 17x2023
但睇左review個原廠bios性能釋放柒既
變左又要搵過目標,結果又睇返rog
係sca16用mini led,scar18大芒同散熱會更好既情況下我簡左18

PD3.1 遊戲本一部都未出過，3.1 出左2年得一部macbook pro 16 用咁大把，聽講係C口輸入果面PD3.1晶片未搞得掂。

Legion pro 7i gen 8 2023 比舊代改變不太大且cut 左necklit 及冇上mini LED. 但控制到價錢 約28000
Asus Strix Scar 16 2023 比 上邊有好的型及尺寸，有Mini LED, 保持premium 感。但價錢上到33000
所以視乎budget 而選擇要咩。

其實如果我自己出， 一係rog flow x16 2023 因有特色, 一係考慮legion pro 7i or Alienware x16
我自己3月底前就會決定及落單。唔會等消費券

Build quality feels premium on the Alienware and Aorus 17x, but the Asus Strix Scar feels super cheap - lots of plastic bits. The scar does run the smoothest out of the box though, likely due to the next item:
The asus scar cpu performs the best out of the box, over 30k R23 cinebench- while both the 17x and Alienware seem to have some software issues limiting cpu power that need to be updated. Performance is similar after cpu limits are lifted (4080 performs really well, just short of the 4090s)
The scar is the most quiet out of the 3, followed by the Alienware - but all 3 can perform fairly well under balanced fan profiles without much performance loss.
I really like the 18 inch monitor on the scar the most, but all 3 have pretty good colors and look good
Speakers are the best on the Alienware, with a nice soundstage for gaming. The other two are only OK I’d say.
The Alienware is by far the worst, with Cinebench topping out under 23,000 out of the box in the highest performance modes.
However, the Alienware has more generous XTU settings allowed - so you can set it to auto overclock in XTU, and I got 28,220. If I set the 157w turbo max manually, it jumps up to over 31,000 or so, matching the Scar - but you need to leave XTU on.
Timespy CPU score goes from the 12s to almost 16,000 with the auto overclock, and I got it over 16,000 with manual XTU power limits raised too.

i just bought the legion 7 pro 4080 waiting on it to arrive sunday. he are my thoughts:
Asus Scar 16:
pros: -mini LED screen, CPU theoretically very slightly faster
cons: currently RAM is limited to 4800 MT/s -reviews have it running hotter than legion 7 pro -bios has CPU undervolt locked -multiple reports of coil whine -only comes with 16gb of 4800mhz ram -ram apparently limited to 4800mhz currently
comments: also has more RGB fwiw.
Legion 7:
pros: -metal chassis -seems to run the best out of the box with no adjustments needed -lower temps compared to other laptops (60s to low 70s vs high 70s low 80s), -32GB 5600Mhz RAM out of the box
cons: -less RGB -plastic touchpad -no mini led screen
why i went with the legion: i dont really care about the less RGB thing and im not going to game on or use a touchpad when i have a mouse to use so the plastic touchpad thing doesnt matter to me. Dont care about fan volume because I have headphones too. the mini led monitor thing i do care about, but its not worth the risk of coil wine, higher temps, less ram thats also slower, inability to upgrade RAM speed currently, and inability to undervolt CPU currently in the Asus. the lenovo performs the best stock imo compared to other 4080 laptops at the <3k price point with plenty of room to OC given the lower temps. also most of my peripherals are USB A rather than C so i like that it has more USB A.
