最近因工作需要，要用老婆部T43，不過覺得幾慢，想問吓大家有冇得自己upgrade呢？
依家粒U係centrino 1.86G，2G DDR-2，如果可以upgrade，最多可以up到幾多呢？粒U難唔難買呢？
重有可唔可以換埋張802.2N wireless lan呢？

請高手指路。

粒u其實我覺得up左都唔會快好多，可以去新高登搵下
wireless 想用n既話你要搵張行mini pci 既，再crack 左bios 應該用到

Agree to upgrading the hard disk in order to gain speed.  What size is your hard disk now? I upgraded mine to 160GB IDE hard disk.  Need to first updated to latest BIOS then the controller firmware before installing the 160GB hard disk to avoid some disk compatibility issue.

Yes.  Change the harddisk will improve the speed a lot.  No need to change the wifi card.

IBM T series SATA->IDE internal converter had locks
we can only use Fujitsu IDE HDD unless you use hacked BIOS

我都想 UP .... 有冇 Good Suggestions Make and Model ?  Thanks a lot 先 。

依家當然唔需要再玩CF>>IDE / SATA , 因為SSD依家平晒同好多唔同既 socket zif / 44pin / 50pin...etc..
當時玩係搵唔到 44pin 1.8" IDE SSD (依家終於有)

另想問 T43 DDR2 Ram 是 跑 533MHz 嗎 ? 我的  Stock Piece 256M + 512M , 拔走 512M 換入 1G/667 不能 Bootup.  Beep Beep 響。  最佳(平) 上 2G 是點 ? 有1G 667 / 800 各 1。

T43 用非官方指定硬碟會有 2010 錯誤警報... 大部份情況下對實際運作並沒有影響... 不過 Cold Boot 時會停一停同 Do Do Do... 詳情請參考以下網址...

As said in my previous post, u need to first upgrade to the latest BIOS; reboot; then upgrade the firmware of the hd controller.
Go the BIOS, and set continue to boot when error message.  Then u can use any brand of IDE hard disk.
Original BIOS or firmware only supports up to 120G hard disk and also sepcific model of Fujitsu or Hitachi.  I am now using a 160G Hitachi Hard disk on a T43 and no problem after upgrading for more than a year.

Due to the Intel 915 chipset limitation, the max ram is 2x1G.  I have upgraded mine with 2x1G Transcend ram DDR2 667.  No problem so far, and speedier in loading programs.

T43 用 Dothan, U在淘寶買唔難搵, Ram 最多可以2GB DDR2 (1GB x2 or 2GB x 1)。

T43和n Wireless 無緣, 不過有款a/b/g真係幾好, 又快又穩定, 收得最好, ThinkPad T4x 玩過唔少Wireless Lan Card, 起碼5﹑6款。

Thank you so much.  Is possible an issue if mixed 2 sticks of Ram in different spec. ?  1G/667 with 1G/800 ? How to remove the Stock piece of Ram? There is a small cover at the bottom for the Removable piece only.  Thank you for your attention.

Yes, no problem.  Both are will run DDR533 only.

The stock piece of ram is mounted in another ram slot under the keyboard.  You can find a T43 manual to determine which screws to lossen in the bottom of the thinkpad.
