My son (Age:15) wants to learn C/C++ as his first computer language
as time resouces is very limited for him, I prefer him to go to school rather self learning.
Ching, please kindly shared your experience any good place (instructor)
have excellent c/c++ course held in HK

Money wasted is one issue.
but I dont want my boy have bad computer language learning experience
and will enjoy programming thereafter

1. 初學的C/C++係無GUI的，即係大部分時間都係對住黑白指令行，我覺得唔適合咁細，會嚇怕佢
2. 上面都有師兄講，programming好大部分係自學，不過我同意上堂好處係有人guide住佢，同埋有人幫到你解決下d技術困難
3. PHP係易學，不過只限於web (小弟初學就係php, 不過當時正值web最火熱，而家d小朋友都唔玩整網頁，新式的網頁技術都非常複雜)
我就建議上一d iOS/Android 整game班, 一來小朋友都玩慣電話熟哂，二來整d有畫面有得玩既野會開心d興趣大d
至於難度上，手機程式無錯難度唔低。但都視乎開班人點設計，通常初學，導師會寫定一個骨架程式，學生填入適當的code令個app行到，如果有呢種班會幾岩
除左上堂，書都係要的，網上資訊太多太雜，睇書好d
另外，學programming比較自閉，make sure he is interested and like to go down this path

我就買咗隻 EV3 比我朋友兩個女，不過年紀再細啲，唔夠十歲，但已經學緊 robotics。

That's a good suggestion !
Rather than attend a boring course, Lego EV3 is more likely to draw children's attention and inspire their creativity.

係你想定個仔想先，兩樣唔同既野.
就算大學教programming既course,一個sem都只係教到好基本既c language.
學programming language最重要係passion,我中二就去圖書館睇書, c primer 算講得淺白，到咁上下我就同老豆番大陸買書，inside the c++ object model,effective c++個d基本上都睇曬.
有passion就會學，同睇人地點樣寫一手好既code,對比起electronic之類仲高門檻既科，programming其實唔需要搵人教都okay

concept is important I consider although I am not a professional programmer

It seems your intention is finding a means to discourage your son from self-learning. You're here only to get the support from others.
If you feel so concerned about your son's DSE results, you have to focus all his efforts to prepare for it. Since a university degree is no longer the guarantee for a good job, he should target those faculties that will lead him to chartered professionals or business elites. He should never choose to become a programmer, cause most of them don't make big money.
Nowadays, technology is changing so fast that knowledge about specifics can quickly become obsolete. Self learning skill is far more important than a specific skill.
By the way, Lego Mindstorms is a widely acclaimed learning kit, please don't make irresponsible comments on something you don't wholly understand.

He should never choose to become a programmer, since most of them don't earn big money.

呢個階段唔應該花時間學PROGRAMMING，
預備考好個DSE啦。
更何況睇樓主回覆，佢個仔對呢樣野都無乜興趣⋯⋯
題外話，我有少少父幹先繼續打風流工姐，
身邊好多大我小小既同事都係租樓，
好小小既咪早幾年由租樓變上車，
供樓供幾十年⋯⋯
但又驚年紀大俾人炒。

學python會開心好多，
雖然好high level，但教得好一樣可以明晒low level concept。
而且，google都係瘋狂用python，自己整左個go都唔點用，唔好以為high level language就冇用
