when we install archlinux, we use command line for every step, eg. partitioning the hard disk, formatting the partitions, config network, mounting partitions, chroot to new partitions (archlinux has a script to simplify the process with a single command), install program for your needs (text editor, kernel, grub, xorg, windows manager, etc). it makes me learn and understand a lot about linux (at least archlinux).
many people do not like command line, but i think i can have better control of what i am doing.

我用 netinstall boot.....係開頭有少少 menu 問下嘢, 之後我都係全手動做.....
不過 ARCH Linux 起碼有 pacman....我諗起以前我用 Slackware.....

冇錯啦,就係基於 SLACKWARE 制成既 LIVE CD,當年隨 LINUXPILOT 送,就係呢套 LINUX 內建左 SCIM 好用到,到而家都未見有任何一套輸入法套件可以比美,但真係可惜一如樓主另一 TOPIC 講成個世紀冇更新,可能開發果個已走左多年未及開放源碼而未為人知

有呀! 我在linux和windows都係用小小輸入法, 啲config又可以通用(sysbolic link), 超方便, 建基於ibus上, 可以換skin(theme)、tray-icon可以自定png圖、自訂用戶碼表(加香港生僻字/口語字、顏文字kaomoji、倉頡打日文)、自訂聯想字表、wayland系統也可用
用arch的話aur就有 ($ yay -Ss yong) , https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/yong/ , 不然到官網下載、解壓、安裝 (http://yongim.ys168.com > Yong 輸入法-Linux版 > yong-lin-2.5.0-0.7z)
再把Caps-lock改成輸入法切換鍵 就perfect-chi 啦!

i have tried bsd (freebsd, netbsd, and one more but can't remember the name) MANY years ago, but think they were slow, so never really use them.
i also tried gentoo but it took too long to compile

BTW 我跟Document都解決唔到 airpods 2代好細聲問題，所以用 airpods 都係用 over %100 volume。
