最近要幫教會朋友
set 部陳年 Notebook (A20 定 A21) 俾有需要人仕部機本身有老番 XP (當然 5 可以咁俾人)
諗住剷左裝 free linux ubuntu (都係上下網咁用姐)
裝 8.10 唔得 (check 過隻碟 d files 無事)
Install 時首先話 ACPI fail
跟住讀左好耐然後出棕色畫面話 5G 有乜 driver 問題
down 落去 7.04....都係咁
想問 ubuntu 有無 min hardware requirement, e.g., CPU, RAM 等等 ?
改用 Fedora 會 5 會易 d ?

Ubuntu needs at least 256M, recommended 384M or more....

裝隻damnsmalllinux啦，最低要求i386，32mb ram都行到

He is using Windows XP on that notebook. I think Ubuntu can be installed on such a machine.
Would it be the display chipset not being support because Ubuntu 8.10 got Visual Effects(Is that Compiz? I don't know) which requires new display chipset power?

Sorry, I omitted your ACPI failure. I think you would better go to hardware support page of Ubuntu 8.10.

部 A20 得 192M RAM

Check 左 - A20 係裝到
不過 5 係 Ubuntu/Fedora
重要 up BIOS (要摷 web 搵)

最緊要個介面靚靚仔仔
同埋有中文化
所以考慮用 ubuntu/fedora
+ 上唔想用老番 XP
買正版 XP 又 out budget (不是我的 budget)
剛上 yahoo 立左下
百靈蚊加多條 256 (連原有 128 + 64)
剛夠 384M....
