Lambda Linux, the former is Ubuntu Samiux Edition (SE), is the new name the the remastered Ubuntu Live DVD.
Lambda 8.10 R081029 Beta is out. It is remastered from Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop Live CD. You can download it at here.

finally you have your own distro, congratulation
well, as it is a beta version then i just have a quick look with it
1. the startup time seems to be much slower that 8.04, but I believe that it is problem of 8.10 itself
2. it will be good if it include the firewall like "firestarter"
3. "realplayer" and "pcmanfm" can also be considered
4. the real media file support seems to be better than before
5. the "deluge" can update to a newer version
6. since I didnt check the details, did 8.10 have the audio problem as 8.04? the pulse audio seems to be not a mature audio system then.
as your huge fans, waiting to see your official release!

I have tested Ubuntu 8.10 and Lambda 8.10 beta on all my computers and laptops and the boot time of them are faster than before. The laptops are IBM Thinkpad T23, Lenovo T61 and Sony TR1. The computer is Athlon 64x2 4800+. By the way, what is your hardware configuration?
For the firewall, I will choose gufw as GUI interface and Ubuntu is equipped with ufw. ufw is very easy to setup, believe me you will love it.
As the media files are supported better than before by Ubuntu 8.10, I am not considering to install realplayer. The version of deluge is from the official respo of Ubuntu 8.10.
After the quick view from the features of pcmanfm, I think I will use gnome's file manager instead.

I have a IBM X41, well, when I run Lambda as live cd, then I could not write any file into the hard disk.
but it can do this in previous version. is it possible to solve it?

What is the file system on your hard drive (nfts, fat32, ext3 or else)?
