本來用開W 10, 近日突然不停出現 "usb device not reognized" 在 display右下角，試盡所有辦法，都不能解決，故想改用W 8.1, 但裝在recovery partitation 的是 W 8.

    老兄有沒有辦法解決 "usb device not reognized" 这個問題？

當 W 10 free upgrade 時，己裝 W 10, 直至三，四曰前才出現這個問題，網上有很多辦法提供，樣樣試過，都失敗。但電腦仍然操作正常，每個 usb port 都可用，只是不斷出現error message.

Having said that, another problem with your USB connection could be bad contacts due to wear and tear
These kind of things happen at all times, and the only solution is to have the USB connectors in question replaced

Hardware 問題唔關 OS 事, 試吓清潔吓你所有 USB port 及 USB 插頭, 睇吓係咪接觸不良導致

The usb problem is a hardware issue, my device is a desktop with 2 usb 3 ports at the front and 4 usb 2 ports at the rear, I unpluged the cable connecting the usb 3 ports to the the mother board,  the error message never appear again, but I lose 2 usb ports.

It is strange, although the usb 3 port is/ are the cause of the problem, they still functional, besides they generate the error meaasge.

  得知需在Windiws Store 下載Windows 8.1 update, 但在 Windows Store 並沒有英文版update, 只有一個不知何種文字的update.

說得對，真是hardware 問題，但不是清潔可以解，只有將有問題的usb port  disconnect。

It's hard to diagnose such problem easily but one possibility is the cable itself
After long use the cable would age out and develop various problems which would prevent effective power from transmitting thru the cable
Especially, if you're running on USB bus power then you may experience such error problem (or so it seems)
BTW the length of such cable is also another issue
The longer, the less power being transmitted, thus more prone to problem

The other possible cause could be the USB3 chipset problem
Also if you have bad host controller driver/firmware installed, this could be another result of error

If it's slight wear inside the USB female connector then try spraying CRC contact cleaner (or similar)
Sometimes that would clean up the dirt/gunk/oxidation on the metal surfaces concerned which may attribute to connection failure

In my case...
I have  PCIe USB3 card which spans two rear ports and two front ports thru the card's front connector
The rear ports (run with extension cable) rarely fail.  But the front two are gradually getting problematic...

For instance, when I plug in a USB3 card reader into one front port, it may be recognised as a USB2 device which caps transfer spped to USB2 specs...
However, after CRC cleaning and repeated unplug-replug the connection is back to normal again
I was later advised that the cable's front USB3 connectors may have been worn out and thus needs to be replaced
