My synology nas got alaram sound. Alert message said, your harddisk got degraded. How can i backup the data and restore after purchasing a new harddisk?
Whats more, any harddisk recommended?

If you are using SHR/Raid-1/5/6/10/01, just identify the failed harddisk(may show red LED on the Harddisk LED) and replace it with a same size or larger one. If your model support online hot swap, you are better to do that online. After you replace the harddisk, login DSM, go to volume/raid gp setting and "rebuild" the degraded volume/raid gp.

你最好了解自己個setup先……雖然degrade個狀態+2bay都幾明顯係行RAID1，但始終setup嗰個係你嚟，應該suppose知道degrade就應該check一check個disk mamager，了解係邊隻碟死，再搵隻新碟rebuild返就得……

如果仲access到D file, 想安全D咪用你用到的方法backup一次先lol
不過最好就唔好reboot

purchased 2 x 4 tb harddisk for repairing.
i repaired them one by one.
but, why the total space is 2 TB?
will it auto recognized after full repairing?

You need to press "Repair" in DSM, it will auto recognize the new HDD.

finished one HD, now repairing the second one and checking the file consistency.
though it is showing 2 TB available, hope it would auto detect after repairing the second one

If you upgrade from 2TB to 4TB disk, you need to extend the volume/raid group afterward

可以照上面ching話齋，dl隻linux(ubuntu之類)，燒隻cd，將隻hdd放係電摩度用呢隻燒出嚟嘅linux boot cd boot，正常係會見到讀到……不過硬碟出事就

硬碟出事可以咁做（只限仲認到隻碟）：
1. Clone壞果隻HDD去一隻新HDD
2. 用rlinux去做data recovery

Update
用linux usb 起唔番
用linux r-linux 開唔到
反而用windows 版r-linux 就recover 到 （force stop 試左成功）
而家從新來過
不過就算我bypass 左scan
直接find entries 都要好多個鐘
仲要recover 番落電腦又要好多個鐘
今次真係買個教訓
以後打死都N+1

講開又講，我隻207+呢排都成日話有隻hdd堪用，我做修護就無事，但過三四個星期又警告堪用，我又修復又冇野，之後我拆左有問題既HDD.去chkdsk同hd tune掃，又冇事，是不是部207老化就打柴？

因為connect 不清潔?
我自己台 qnap ts451 也會不時無啦啦 degrade, 一個 hdd disconnect. 但不是同一hdd. 但家人另一台 ts251 就一次都未 出過問題。
