Have acquired an Asha 311 but cannot update firmware to most current version
Did in-phone update, said cannot connect to server

Also heard connection to Nokia's firmware servers has been blocked long ago......

What can I do now?

Yes, the server was closed long time ago

So it looks like the firmware packages have to be DL'ed from here, but only after the correct product codes are identified

Luckily after being tipped and followed the instructions I was able to perform such update w/o worrying about bricking the phone

手上有部503都無辦法update

用usb連接電腦，安裝flash程式update firmware，不過部手機冇事最好不要升級，後果自負。

Another one would be Pnoenix (of course)
Just make sure you have a later version of cracked Phoenix ready (2012.50.xxxxxx)

Regarding NSRT, not sure it is has capability to retrieve firmware from secure servers though

Depends on what you want to do
If you have a 503 with foreign firmware but would like to reflash to HKDM firmware, note that the original foreign firmware must NOT have a version number higher than the HKDM one
Otherwise, you're pretty much done for
