Agree, some people just don't understand this and even refute those who suggest to go for the more complicated DIY method (bare HDD + quality enclosure), or go for another generic model (HGST, AData, Suckgate) which employs proper bridge interface chipset
Instead, they go for the ultimate cost performance and those bundled crapware
Unfortunately people don't get properly educated on these storage devices and simply fall for those sales propaganda, without considering the ramifications, it's just sad to see that
