Upper Antelope Valley? I remember the rocks are more orange - maybe you can try to use a different WB to bring out the warmer color of the rocks.

We can't use the flash and it is prohibited to use the flash

What he means is using slow shutter speed not using flash.

I think what yoda means is to use a warmer white balance/higher k value to make the rocks look more orange which matches the real look more.

I only shoot RAW so all I think of is the exposure.
作者: RoyalHKRegiment 時間: 2015-10-22 02:23
You can't stay longer as too many people crowded together and if you use the lower exposure you must hold the camera steady as no tripod allowed

That's exactly what I meant! You can use Lightroom or whatever software you have to post adjust White balance.
I think if you set your camera's WB to "overcast" or similar setting the result would be closer to the original color. The color of the rocks are so vibrant that it will fool the camera's auto white balance computation.
Your exposure is fine, a bit under but still good.

Thank you for your advise. We are in hurry as nobody can stay longer than two minutes and behind you people pushing you to go. Also we don't know what color the rocks are as all in dark only some sunlight comes from the top. If we have time we shall go there once.
That one with sunlight will be more orange in color
under the sunlight in open space

Right, these are probably more accurate in terms of color. Anyways its always nice to see different landscapes. I love Antelope Valley but walking for an hour at 110 F under the sun is probably too much for me now!
Next time you can try setting the WB of your camera at "overcast" when you're inside the caves. See if that'll give you a bit more vibrant color! (Just remember to switch back to auto when you're under the sun!)

Thanks for your advise.
We have bought the clothing with uv protection of 30 at 20 US dollars and short sleeve is 19 Canadian dollars on sale and feel cool under the sun at 40 C. At Las Vegas the temperature is around 42 to 44 C. That clothing is very good UV protection. We don't feel hot.
If we have time we shall go once more.
Don't know have you go to Bryce National Park? Those were the clays standing up. See photos

I am using the Fuji HS20 and the WB only has the R-CY and B-Ye . I only can adjust them from 0 to -3 or to +3. I don't have the feature of "OVERCAST". What should I do?

Sorry for the late reply. I was away for a couple of weeks.
I'm not familiar with Fuji's system, but I think the Red-Cyan adjustments are fine tunes. There should be a setting for K. I think next time you can try a warmer color temperature (e.g. 6000K) when you are inside the caves.
And yes, I've been to Bryce maybe a decade ago. Its nice too but my favorite is still Zion.
