OT... First, given I already have my family in USA and left HK 10+ year... but being a formal F4-7 teacher for 3 years in hk...

First teaching (and mastering ) the subject you teach really take away a lot of time... absolute hate all the paper work of 評核..."校本評核" etc. Instead of putting effort on student... more time was put in paper work and meetings... Just by reading all those crazy 評核 (peer? and parents? I can't hardly get a hold of students' family on phone... let along 評核...)

China (國)=黨.... if they don't make you love 黨, how can they keep going?
Second, Much of the stuff except the 黨 part, are already in the system (公民教育) and I don't think we need extra. You separate an extra class and time... directly cut into other subjects. I will love to ask which teacher have extra time in their class syllabus that another whole class can be cut... a separate class need the marking part... (back to point 1)
#3. much of the topics are covered and should be taught 'combined' by others.. like language and should be used as a side impact. Not a direct subject. A separate subject is not needed.
#4. quality of teacher to handle arguable topics ... this will be fun... and crazy in classroom...
I am afraid its a losing battle. I meant 15 year.... what about another 15 - 20 years...
