all taken with d3 + 50 1.4 ais. imo if u take raw in both systems, theres not much difference interms of sharpness.

yes dunno why. i belive it's the smaller mount of nikon lens and the rear glass size cuts it off.
作者: inzite 時間: 2008-11-24 00:40
not really.

Just one question out of curiosity, is this nice dynamic range purely due to the full frame plus the stronger DR of the flagship models?
I mean if you take a lower end model like D80 + the same lens, can you get anything close to that?

i can do similar things with my d100. it's a matter of using light and understanding the limits of the body.

But you prolly need the big glasses right?
作者: inzite 時間: 2008-11-24 00:50
haha glasses only go as big as 1.2 on nikon and thats with a noct which i don't have. i use a 50 1.4 ais on d3 mostly for going out to places like this haha.

D3 is way too big for my liking
I can imagine if I were to use it, it will decrease my level of interest in taking photos

for me, i like using integrated grip bodies since i find no room to put my last finger when i use a body without grip.

I have a large hand and still the D80 can let all my 4 fingers rest on the grip? Maybe not as comfortably as the larger cameras
But my major concern is the weight
ANyways I am fully aware that you have to pay a slight price for the kind of functionality and quality in a fully professional grade

haha do some exercise.

I mean I can lift a 50lb dumbbell with 1 hand, but I am just too lazy to carry a big camera with me all day long
